Schizophrenia involves a disturbance that lasts for at least six months and includes at least one month of active-phase symptoms. The active phases symptoms include two or more of the following:

  • Delusions
  • Hallucinations
  • Disorganized speech
  • Grossly disorganized
  • Catatonic behavior
  • Negatives symptoms (i.e., affective flattening, alogia, or avolition)
